If you ’ve lived for more than 100 years , chances are you ’ve crossed more than a few items off yourbucket inclination . A 102 - year - one-time Missouri char , however , managed to find something she ’d gone her entire long life story without know : getting arrested . But with a little help from the local law , that finally change last Friday .
As explained in theABC News videoabove , Edie Simms was arrested , handcuffed , and take away for a drive in the back of a St. Louis constabulary cruiser … all as part of a favor she called in with the local police to help her fulfill her strange – but admittedly badass – bucketful inclination wish . As at least one local tidings wall plug joked , she was in short made public foe No . 102 , and she loved every second of it .
When ask if she enjoyed the experience , she laughed and said , " Oh yes , manacle and all , " according to a report by St. Louisnews station KPLR 11 . As you may imagine , local law officers were thrilled they could provide the centenarian with the experience .
" These type of events and Ms. Simms help us do that and we`re more than happy to do these eccentric of things , " St. John McLaughlin of the St. Louis Police Department say , per the report . " We love it and we get more out of it than the senior do . "
Simms is known for make and donating hundreds of items to other seniors at the Five Star Senior Center . She also offered some capital life advice , according to the report :
" Keep going , do n’t ever finish whatever it is you ’re doing and pass some time doing residential area overhaul because sometimes the person you reach out and have-to doe with , is the only soul that they will talk to in a Clarence Shepard Day Jr. , " she allege . " It ’s a great humankind if you just open your optic and front at it . "
