Look , we get it : the Fringe Festival can feel totally intimidating . But sometimes , you have to step outside your solace zona and go for experiencing something genuine , unusual , andgenuinely unusual , or you ’re not really hold up lifespan , you know ? Do yourself a favor and curb out at least one of the performances atDC ’s Capital Fringe Festivalthis year . There are over 100 shows taking spot at 20 locale throughout the city … so not take part is essentially for fool . Plus , the fete is a great path to make middleman ( or bump dates ) .

Wendy Macleod ’s Graeco-Roman black drollery follow the Pascals , a family obsessed with the Kennedy character assassination – and a baby haunt with her brother . If you ’re a devotee of the relationships inGame of Thrones , this one ’s up your alley .
Over Her Dead Body
Logan Fringe Arts Space : Trinidad TheatreA traveling bluegrass diverseness show on the morbid side of life , Over Her Dead trunk features local performers count the more murderous of traditional songs , backed by local six - piece lot Dead Men ’s Hollow . This show promises to be both haunting ( um , literally ) and entertaining .
DEATH BE NOT LOUD!
MLK Jr. Memorial Library , A:3Who does n’t like to talk smack over a dirty martini ? Witty , cagey , and profane , this two - woman show , authored by Susan Jackson , passes the Bechdel test with flying color , and showcases an aspect of southerly womanhood , to charge .
Confederates
Logan Fringe Arts Space : UpstairsWe’re surrounded by Civil War battlefields around the DMV , and this play spotlight the Clarence Day after a wholesale victory by Confederate soldier at the First Battle of Bull Run ( or First Manassas ) . Richard Gomez direct . Spoiler alert : yeah , thing do n’t precisely go the way the Confederacy go for .
JUICED
Gallaudet University : Eastman Studio Theatre"I love rock ' n ’ bowl , so derive an ' take your time an ' dance with me ! " And that ’s on the nose what Tia Nina does … but with design . Three amazing human race take the stage to smash sex stereotype and stick a finger up to intimate objectification , all through saltation . It ’s a sinewy thing to learn .
Wash Over You
Atlas Performing Arts Center : LangYes , y’ all , we ARE below the Mason - Dixon line … which gives this terpsichore troupe the right to wear plaid dresses and talk with a twang , all the while leading you on an adventure downriver . Just like life , right ?
