San Francisco ’s favourite pop - up chef Wes Rowe has finally rig up a permanent home for his seemingly endless burger genius . After two successful year slinging different all - brisket burgers each week at Mojo Bicycle Cafe , Wes Burger n ’ More will open up in a funky diner next to Mission Chinese by the end of the month .
While diner can expect regular handshake - ups , the opening menu read like a Wes Rowe neat hits record : he ’s put fan front-runner like the oniony Okie Burger , classic All American Burger , and award - winning Hot Wes into lasting rotation . Southern fried wimp , and its spicier cousin , Nashville deep-fried chicken , are coming over from Wes ’s papa - up at Uncle Brother ’s Chicken , uncommitted by the sandwich , plate , or pail . ( Um , get the bucket . )
As for the “ ‘ n ’ More ” part , Wes say the menu is made up of “ food that I wish . That I want to make . ” The dishes vitrine Wes ’s twinned influences , first as a brisket - loving , backyard - cook out Texas native , but also as someone who has lived and breathe every aspect of the SF food conniption for the preceding fifteen years , including as a author and restaurant consultant . What those three-fold identities farm when conflate together : down - home comfort nutrient made with SF - perfect attention to item .

Case - in - point : his signature fool on a classic clubhouse sandwich . Wes brines and smokes the turkey in - house , a unconscious process that takes a mates of days . He even uses the dripping for the house - made mayonnaise topping , which brings the whole meal together in smoky deliciousness .
Or take his originative fried volaille burrito , a lackadaisical , rice - less masterpiece , featuring his signature Southern deep-fried chicken wrapped up with all the traditional burrito toppings and a fresh corn whisky salad .
Vegetarians ( and those just bet to eat a tad lighter ) will have some option to choose from , include salad and a vegetarian reuben that cover hearty portobello mushroom like pastrami , and comes exceed with Krauthead in between traditional marble rye bread .

As for vibration , you know it ’ll be poppin ’ when Chris Hastings , industry veteran soldier and owner of the Castro ’s iconicLookout bar , is also at the helm . As for drinks , intellectual nourishment - friendly beer and wine-coloured join the company while top cocktail talent from Union Square ’s Benjamin Cooper and neighboring Lolo add two creative theater punches . But the retro diner ambiance truly emanate from a repair seventies juke box , curated entirely by the proprietor of Lower Haight ’s Rooky Ricardo ’s Records , who thankfully has a taste for R&B girl bands from the sixties . We ’re pretty sure when The Supremes sang “ You Ca n’t Hurry Love , ” they were referring to San Francisco ’s wait for a Wes Rowe - owned diner .
