Brackenridge Park
Length:2 milesIf you could avoid the party barbecuers , quinceañera - celebrators , and skateboarder , a run through Brackenridge Park can be one of the most pleasurable in SA . As with the River Walk , it ’s advisable to start early at Brackenridge – a 6 am start is ideal . Jog near the water system for a cool breeze , and blockade for water at some of the park ’s many fountains .
Woodlawn Lake Park
Length:1 milePossibly the prettiest run in SA , Woodlawn Lake Park is ideal for a nimble morning or eventide workout . The 1 - mile loop by the lake is complete for a quick fix or a recollective session with a nice view . Adequately marked with aloofness marker , deal of benches for rest / stretches , and outdoor fitness session , the park throw it gentle for runner . Avoid the geese though , guys . They ’re ( kinda ) cute from far away , but are belligerent , and will chase you for a surprisingly tenacious time .
Olmos Basin Park

Huge Oak trees provide copious shade from the penalise sun , and plenty of association football and baseball fields mean you ’re sure to get a competitive intramural secret plan if you ’re inclined to stop . The park is always fussy , and typically has a police force presence – so if safety is a concern , Olmos Basin is a swell option .
Leon Creek Greenway
Length:14 milesWith 14 miles of trails , Leon Creek Greenway is usually filled with serious runner and cyclists , but with plenty of opportunities to stop and get a glimpse of pee , vegetation , and heroic grassland , the park is also attractive to novice runners and greedy hiker . If you ’re a new runner , do n’t be discouraged from visiting , just heed this advice : do n’t lead before or after sundown unless you have a top dog lamp . bicyclist belt along through turns in the trail , and it ’s nearly unimaginable to see them without some day .
Phil Hardberger Park
Length:2 milesA potpourri of terrain makes Phil Hardberger Park a pet amongst runners in SA . From concrete to asphalt to crushed granite , the ballpark has you covered . Notoriously well - maintained , Hardberger has plentifulness of exercise stations , H2O jet , and cad poop bag for man ’s good booster . Parking is limited , so seek to get ahead of time ( remark a vogue ? ) to take your dapple .
