Euron Greyjoy – who became Rex of the Iron Islands onthis week’sGame of Thrones– is , for lack of a better term , crazy as fuck . think that batshit uncle from your mom ’s side who survive in the Florida Keys as a spearfish teacher , and then conflate him with a Viking , several pirates , and Brad Pitt fromLegends of the Fallduring his walkabout opium years , and you ’ve bugger off a moderately good idea of just what Theon and Yara are dealing with here .
But unlike most crazy uncles who dispatch their blood brother in a bold attempt to consolidate power , Euron really has the skills and savvy to do the seemingly impossible : make viewer begin manage about those piddle - logged marauders of the Iron Islands . Not only is he cunning , having devised the design to destruct the Lannisters ' ships during the Greyjoy Rebellion ( which took plaza nine long time prior to the event inGame of Thronesand is the grounds Theon became a hospital ward of the Starks ) but he won the kingsmoot thanks to a bloody ambitious plan .
That program , and King Euron himself , bear closer scrutiny , since the Ironborn will act as a potentially pivotal persona this time of year , whether you like it or not , because that is the goddam Iron mode .

As far as I can tell , a kingsmoot is essentially the combining of a political convention and the rap struggle scenes from8 Mile , with the person who has the most clever insults and get onlooker to chant the loudest terminate up as the leader . Once Euron ’s pull ahead the ' moot , his buddy Aeron – basically the high Drowned Man of the Ironborn ’s Drowned God faith , thanks to having nearly drown himself – performs the rite to make a new king , which obviously also involves drowning said king and hoping he come back to aliveness . But as Euron nearly drown , Theon and Yara and the mass fast to them get off on their people ’s best ships and sweep off . Euron is n’t distressed , because crazy people do n’t worry , so he just make the sane request of building a thousand new ship with the hope of pass the Ironborn the earth .
This essentially leaves us with two questions , one immediate and one for the hereafter .

Where are Theon and Yara heading with those ships?
Since Theon and Yara cognize of Euron ’s plan of postulate Daenerys to team up up with them , their boldest move might be to go to Meereen themselves and work out their own mickle with the Mother of Dragons . And thanks tothe eventful pre - season trailer , we know that Yara meet kissy - face with a female slave , so it seems logical to assume that she and her brother are heading in that guidance . Unfortunately , Daenerys is still busy being extremely Dothraki , so this plan might intend a grouping fall with Varys and Tyrion just as Meereen and the rest of Slaver ’s Bay set about to come into bedlam .
In the books , which are no longer as relevant to show plot line as they once were , Euron ’s cuckolded brother Victarion heads over to Meereen on behalf of the Ironborn with the squad - up whirl for Daenerys . Since the show seems to have elided the Victarion character altogether and Theon did n’t make it to the kingsmoot in the books , could Theon be bring over that storyline ? If so , he and Yara are indeed on their way to Meereen … and make it there just in time for war to break out there .
But considering how far Meereen is from the Sunset Sea and the strong likelihood that a plan involving dragons wo n’t trash out , maybe Theon and Yara are heading to Braavos instead ? It seems like such a lovely topographic point , filled as it is with face - change assassins , bawdy sketch - funniness troupes , and about zero annoying uncles . While this scenario is admittedly unlikely , a girl advert Arya has to get back to Westeros somehow , proper ? And if anyone kill Theon , we hope it ’s a Stark .

Could Euron’s plan to unite with Daenerys actually work?

A combination Dothraki - Ironborn army is a scary medical prognosis to think about , and see a clump of Dothraki horse master ride their steeds off of Ironborn ship , mayhap with their long braids intertwined with seaweed , would probably cause every lord in Westeros to send out all their parking brake Corvus corax simultaneously , thus clogging the raven airways , and induce a monumental raven outage . Then again , Euron is a dick , one who is rumored to have learned black magic from torture warlocks in Qarth ( a possible reason he look so much young than Balon and Aeron ) . I ’m not certain if the Mother of Dragons would enjoy being cue about the property where she was imprisoned and nearly kill by a creepy-crawly warlock assassinator . And if it comes down to Ironborn vs. Stormborn , I know where I ’m putting my money .
