Hawaiian Volcano Observatory enquiry scientist Don Swansontold the Associated Presson Monday that the lava flow is kind of unusual , and that scientist are n’t sure why the lava lake at the vent ’s acme is spewing so violently at the second .

While Swanson noted the volcano ’s rude beauty – “ it ’s quite pretty ” he said – the USGS is still warning tourist to exert precaution , being that one could be horrifically maimed or easy killed by an active volcano .

The Kilauea vent is located on northerly side of the island of Kauai , and is one of the world ’s most active volcanoes . Currently , the volcano is erupting in two places – the peak ’s Halema‘uma‘u Crater and from Pu‘u ‘ O‘o in the vent ’s eastern rift , – the latter of which is funnel lava into the sea , according to AP .
