" I painted the pianissimo to look like a bronze or copper statue that has a patina or cupric acetate on it . Boston has a lot of statue , and objects take on a sort of aliveness when they get a patina . think about all the layers of tradition Boston has , and the multifariousness available in this minuscule city , I wanted to embrace the urban center ’s contradictory nature . Rather than making the piano bright and beautiful , I was seek to make it beautiful through making it kind of grungy , and bosom all the aspects of the city that path . "
