In just over a month , cocktail industry luminaries from around the man will convoke in New Orleans for the fourteenth one-year Tales of the Cocktail ( TOTC ) league . The hard liquor - filled calendar week will cap off with the 10th one-year Spirited Awards dinner , where bar , bartenders , writers , brand ambassadors , distiller and other experts will be honour for their heavy work over the past year .

This week , we induce a tasting of what to expect when TOTC release its top four finalists in each of its awarding categories , including best American and outside taproom teams , best cocktail menu and best new spirit or cocktail ingredient . They were vote on by a panel of 112 diligence pros , led by chairmen Simon Ford , Jacob Briars and David Wondrich .
