Let ’s all agree : if it ’s hold a taco , we ’ll eat it . And Taco Bell has made billions of dollars on this hypothesis , now embodied in the release of its newest creation : the Naked Chicken Chalupa .
Fresh out of the wacky wetback bank vault ( seeDoritos Locos Taco , waffle taco , biscuit taco … ask I go on ? ) , the NCC interchange the standard tortilla scale with one made from crispy fried chicken , folded like a tortilla and fill up with the authoritative Chalupa fillings . Currently available only in certain test markets like Lawrence , KS , it was up to me to figure out if this was the same bare taco T - Bell tried out last class . Here ’s what I found .
First glance
As far as I can secernate , nothing covering the bread , all - white chicken shell lay down this taco “ nude , " away from lacking real bread . But that makes it look awfully similar toKFC ’s Double Down sandwich . When you initiate using poultry as your roll ( or tortilla , in this case ) it ’s hard to avoid comparisons .
Inside , you ’ll find the taco fastening you ’d await – lettuce , diced love apple and cheese – hold the meat , because you ’ve already catch a sum " tortilla . " They ’ve topped it with avocado ranch , too , instead of sour cream you ’d find on a normal Chalupa , which is a skillful touch .
Eating it

And , I will say , if you ’re contrive on springing for a juicy crybaby sandwich at Wendy ’s , you might as well skitter the carbs and grab the Naked Chicken Chalupa . It ’s – make bold I say – a “ healthier ” choice to that sandwich .
And any way of life you could fool yourself into thinking libertine food is estimable for you by cut carbs and upping your protein – that ’s a win .
