It ’s ineluctable , and yet , or else of sense like it ’s being foist upon us , we feel proud . After all , it ’s local – and local sourcing is something else we ’re pretty obsessed with , as wecan’t seem to blockade writing about it . So it must be good , right ? Right .

Paseo vs. Un Bien

Ah , Paseo . There ’s nothing more frustrative than sitting in Seattle dealings ( some of the worstin the nation ) , dealing with the urban center ’s terrible drivers ( whichstudies claimare some of the bad in the nation ) , and then , when you actually get to where you are going , having to walk all the way down the block to pay the highest parking fee in the country . Oh , except for having to listen to all your friends kick about how frustrating those thing are like you do n’t already have intercourse . You wholly have intercourse .

Bicycles

On the one hand , they ’re great for the environment ; but on the other mitt , they ’re frightful for traffic . And while it ’s altogether great that our last mayor used to cycle to figure out , it ’s not cool that he shut down intact street lanes Downtown for his fellow two - wheel around enthusiasts . It ’s good that the city pace in to salvage our wheel - share-out system , but it sucks how badly we got screwed on the deal . See a pattern here ? There are few things that divide opinion in Seattle like bikes , which is unknown ( irrational , by chance ? ) when you consider that only 3.7 % of the universe actually cycle to work .

Teriyaki

Forget salmon , or oysters , or even Beecher ’s . Teriyaki is Seattle ’s signature food . And while teriyaki is almost unheard of in most city , we take it for granted around here . After all , almost 10 % of Seattle ’s restaurant serve this ready , deliciou … look , what?There are a third few teriyaki eating place than there were a decade ago ? This is a catastrophe !

Garbage

First they fundamentally ostracize refuse – everything either has to be recycle or composted – but no one could figure that out , so now they ’re working on new , and probably more complicated , normal . Meanwhile , they banned charge plate shopping traveling bag because too many were ending up in landfill , which forced foodstuff store to bear down you for paper bags . OK . Our lovemaking for the Seahawks ( we ’re the cheap fans ever ) and the Sounders ( we have twice the average attendance of the next most popular MLS team ) probably seems irrational to some people . But at least those team survive .
