Will the sixth time of year ofAmerican Horror Storytackle the lose colony of Roanoke ? Will it delve into the psychotic history of Charles Manson ? Both ! Or at least that ’s what we ’ve been led to believe by formally released teasers . Turns out , only one of those things might be rightful – or neither .
With those trailers and the other batch of teasers they ’ve let go of , series creator Ryan Murphy and his cult of diabolical mystery - spinners are just messing with us . Yesterday , FX CEO John Landgrafexplained : " There are many more house trailer than you ’ve really seen for supposed seasons ofAmerican Horror Story– different genres , different places . One of them is accurate . The others are all misdirects . "

TheAmerican Horror Story : Roanoketheoryemergedafter TMZ snapped set photos of thatched - cap huts and the Word of God " CROATOAN " carved into a tree – the only clue entrust behind after the 16th - century British colony in North Carolina cryptically disappeared . Just as fans conciliate on those TMZ shot as " conclusive " evidence about the focus of the upcoming time of year , young photograph suggesting the hypothesis of a Manson - theme time of year ofAHSsurfaced , include a flick of a white door stamp with " PIG , " the Word of God written in blood the dark Sharon Tate was murdered , as well as a selfie of a scruffy - looking Evan Peters that resembled the cultus leader . What to believe ?
The tease preview are more oblique , but as Landgraf suggest , one of them is the real article . So which one is it ? Watch the trailers previously released by FX below and speculate along with us .

Guess : Red Clupea harangus . The house looks like to TMZ ’s undercover agent photos , but theTexas Massacre - esque chainsaw at the end feels a fiddling on the nozzle , even for Murphy .
“Lullaby”
pretend : Another red herring , although we would n’t mind see Murphy tackle " Rosemary ’s Babywith an actual demon baby . "
“Descent”
approximate : Vague enough to ferment for any premise , so very plausible . Though with more notes ofEvil DeadthanThe Witch , the annoyer belie one theorize clock time full point .
“Milli Crossing”
Guess : Even vaguer , and the likeliest stakes . Every spot and time has bugs !
The truth : we wo n’t sleep together anything untilAmerican Horror StorySeason 6 premieres on September 14 at 10 p.m. Stay tune up .
