Boston is a plaza that sees a peck of people add up and go . That could be because they ’re passing by as they attend one of our over 35 college , or possibly they ’re just getting fed up with our moth-eaten ( cold , inhuman ) winters . Whatever it is , people move on . After they do , they before long realize there are certain things our city has that the rest of the country just does n’t . Therefore , nostalgia sets in and they start to miss the things Boston offered . Like these …
Having a true sports legacy
There ’s a plenteous history of sports and championships in Boston , from the Celtics to the Sox to the Pats . It ’s something the hometown gang is utterly lofty of , and it ’s a freehanded reasonableness people hate us . lamentably , something family line outside of Boston do n’t understand is that we get the struggle ( remember the curse ? ) and are thankful and elated when we come through . Having say that , we get all the more bummed when our team perform poorly , which is something that can have us mistaken for being impossible fans … or just sore losers .
Dunkin' Donuts
There ’s a Dunkin ' sinker just around every niche in Boston . Actually , you may sometimes see one while standing in another one . And with almost 61 locations in this city alone , it ’s literally where we spend our mornings .
Clam chowder
It ’s made with pick . End of narration . you may get it elsewhere , but it ’s not the same .
The history
One of the thing I enjoy most about Boston is discover the old buildings and monument and discovering the story behind them . Everything is historic in this metropolis , from the Bunker Hill Monument ( which is a memorial for the Battle of Bunker Hill ) to the likes of theGreen Dragon Tavern , which go out back to 1654 . Even the oldest house in this place , the James Blake House , is from 1661 , which is pretty damn honest-to-goodness .
Being in a ‘smaat’ town
Thanks to Harvard , MIT , Brandeis University , and the other muckle of over 35 colleges in the Boston area , the great unwashed can think you ’re smart if you ’re from here . It ’s enliven to walk into a café and hear conversation about everything from decoding DNA to social liberalism in the originate reality .
That unwavering love of Tom Brady
People apparently hate him everywhere else . I mean , did they actually boo him at the Super Bowl ?
The Charles
Massachusetts has the ocean , but Boston gets the Charles River – and you ’ll lack it once you entrust . From exercising along the weewee to sailing during biotic community boat , we ’re pretty lucky to have this .
Eating ice cream all year round
Apparently there are people from other parts of the country – namely the cold one – who believe ice emollient should only be eat when the weather stick cold . Well , tell that to the line of the great unwashed outside JP Licks in the dead of winter . We do n’t give care : rain or shine , snowstorm or blizzard . Just get us a pint of that coffee tree Oreo and we ’re adjust .
Not caring about fashion
I look at the style kinfolk in New York wear their cute jackets and rend denim in the middle of winter . Then I get back to Boston and realize that we really do n’t have the charge to interest about that stuff and nonsense . frankly , I think we would almost sense silly if we did .
Of of course , maybe a lot of it has to do with our conditions . The winter months are very insensate ; you ca n’t be stylish when all you ’re trying to do is practice bundling up as much as possible so you do n’t block outdoors … when you ’re wait in logical argument for ice emollient , of course .
The snow
Hear me out . I recognize this might be the principal reason you ’re leaving . And though you might detest it while you ’re here , you ’ll unquestionably be grateful for having gone through it . Boston winters and blizzard are test of willpower . After we all come out of our hole at the beginning of April , we know we ’ve shared something special , albeit depressively painful . But hey , we ’re stronger for it , unlike those softies in California .
Having all the seasons
It ’s unearthly to think not everyone has a spring , summer , fall , and winter – or that Christmas is lionize with medallion tree diagram and 70 level weather . Some of the prettiest times of the class in Boston is the changing of the seasons . We ’re talking when the farewell change people of colour and sweater weather rejoinder ; sip of warm orchard apple tree cider and puff of Cucurbita pepo spice fill the air . And after what seems to be an interminable winter , it ’s invigorating to see the state “ defrost ” and buds regress to Tree .
Craft breweries and distilleries
We have enough breweries and distillery around township to not only drink our bosom out , but also tour and discover a little something about hops , barley , and grain . While the big guys like Sam Adams and Harpoon are fine , it ’s the smaller breweries like Downeast Cider or Night Shift Brewing that offer a more fun free turn . You fuck , fun adult thing like board games and arcades .
July Fourth
If you ’re from Boston and you see how people from other part of the commonwealth keep the Fourth , it ’s cringe - suitable – especially when you hear friends in California say they watch the firework near kip Beauty ’s castle in Disneyland . In Boston , firework , raging dogs , cookouts , diachronic reenactment , and the Boston Pops Orchestra are everything that pee the Fourth of July . Frankly , it just is n’t the same anywhere else .
